Meet Our Instructors

We offer music lessons in a variety of popular instruments like, piano, guitar, drums and voice. You may ask us about other types of music lessons like violin, saxophone, or trumpet.

Our primary goal is not only to teach you how to play your instrument, but to make you a musician. This includes understanding music, how to play it, and how to create it. In our experience, when a student commits to an instrument, takes time to practice what they learn, and shows a real interest in learning, they will soon become a musician.

Our instructors work hard to make sure you learn everything you need to start playing and creating music on your own.

What To Expect From A Music Lesson

  • music lessons houston txExpect to learn – We want you to start playing your instrument right away. But first we need to cover some basics. We’ll go over basic music theory so that you can begin gaining an understanding of music as a whole, and then we’ll apply that to your instrument.
  • Expect to play – There will be a lot of playing in your music lesson. Whether it be a scale, a chord progression, or a song that we practiced the week before, you’re here because you want to play, and you will.
  • Expect to review – The instructor has to know you are ready to move forward. That’s why at the start of every lesson we review what you learned the previous lesson to make sure you are ready to move on to something more challenging.
  • Expect to take notes – You can’t expect to remember everything that was covered in a music lesson, especially in those hour long lessons. So bring a pen and a notebook, and get ready to take some notes. Never hesitate to ask questions if you don’t understand something.
  • Expect to have fun – The instructor doesn’t want to be bored for a half hour or full hour, and we’re sure you don’t either. One of our goals is to make sure you learn in an environment you want to learn in. We want you to feel comfortable singing or playing in front of us. So we thrive to make every lesson a fun one so that you look forward to coming back next time!

What Is Music Theory

When you started going to school, you started to learn how to read and how to write. This helped you understand new things and learn in a different way than what you had ever learned before. We take these courses so that we know how to speak, understand,  and write properly in English.

Music theory is just like that. It’s the general language of music. It applies to all instruments and all voices. Without the proper knowledge in music, you won’t know how to properly play your instrument (speak) and you won’t know how to create your own music (write).

With every music lesson we teach, we also teach music theory. This principle goes back to our commitment of making musicians, not simply people who can play an instrument.

I am progressing with each lesson thanks to John's ability to teach. His professionalism and knowledge are well worth the investment! And thankfully the price is super reasonable!
